I am forever grateful for the existence of the Berean Bible Institute, a school that met a need in my life for sound training in the Word of God rightly divided beyond what I was receiving in my local grace church. When I came to the institute it was a real step of faith for my family. We had felt the Lord’s leading for some time for further training and full time ministry, but life always seemed to hold us back. Now, looking back, I know it was all in God’s perfect timing. The institute was designed perfectly to meet my family’s needs. The schedule and class structure allowed me to pursue the training I needed without compromising my role as a husband and father. The three year curriculum provided me training in “all the counsel of God” (Acts 20:27). The classes I took laid a solid foundation for my continuing study of the Word of God. As I lead my local church. and family, I am able to draw upon those truths instilled in me at the Berean Bible Institute.

BBI was the vessel that God used to equip me for the works that He had prepared beforehand for me (Ephesians 2:10).On a short term mission trip, I became convinced of God’s call on my life for the pastoral ministry.Already having an undergraduate degree, I knew what I really needed was a mid-Acts dispensational school that would focus on preparing me to do the work that God called me to do.BBI was just that!It is a school where the Word of God is not just central, but is integral to the entire program.Having godly men of the Word as instructors who either had recently served or were currently serving as pastors was a tremendous benefit.I thank God often for how He has used and is using BBI in my Christian walk and ministry.

Here are three life-changing reasons I am thankful for the training I received at the Berean Bible Institute. First, the diversity of classes, quality reading requirements, and varied professors grounded me in the knowledge of the Word rightly divided, which gave me the confidence that God could use even me to teach His Word. Second, I was able to glean from experienced pastors regarding the practical aspects of ministry. Space doesn’t permit me to list each situation in which I have found myself referring back to what I learned in the classroom. Finally, I realized that the doctrines of grace were meant to change lives, including my own. The Scriptures point to the Person and work of Christ. The Lord has greatly used the Berean Bible Institute in my life and ministry for His honor and glory.
For sixteen years Berean Bible Institute has been in the business of training leaders for the Grace Movement. This Alumni Spotlight is a small reminder of how God has used the ministry of BBI to continue to impact the Grace movement by providing well trained men and women who unapologetically stand for the message of God’s Grace. We continue to covet your prayer and support as we press onward in serving the Lord Jesus Christ though this ministry.
